Jo Pavey becomes running ambassador for Dreams Come True

Howard Lake | 31 January 2011 | News

former Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist and current elite road runner, Jo Pavey, has agreed to become running ambassador for Dreams Come True, the charity that makes dreams come true for seriously and terminally ill children.
Pavey has twice won the 10k Great Manchester Run and is now an elite Nike runner taking part in the 2011 London Marathon.
She said: “When Dreams Come True approached me to become involved with their charity it made perfect sense as it gave me the opportunity to combine my running career with a children’s charity. Dreams Come True will have over 100 runners in this year’s event and I am thrilled to be part of such a good cause.”
Matthew Argenti, Development Director for Dreams Come True, says the association with Jo Pavey is a natural fit. “A large proportion of our income is derived from running”, he said, “and we felt that we needed a current road-runner who could lead us and our many supporters by example. Jo will be giving us tips on running and nutrition as well as providing blogs, general advice and support.”
