ITV Auction Party seeks fundraiser contestants
ITV is filming a new series in which two families or groups of friends compete against each other trying to raise the most money with a fundraising auction in aid of their favourite charity.
The TV company is looking for people keen to take part, especially those with an interest in collecting, who might look to theme their auction around their own interests. The first episode will start filming in Essex next week, so the company is keen to hear from would-be participants urgently.
The remaining seven episodes will be filmed around the country.
ITV1’s ‘Auction Party’ will be hosted by Laurence Llewellyn Bowen and is open to applicants aged 18 or over.
Before the auction, the teams will be provided with some cash to go out with and try to find some bargains to sell at profit at their auctions. They will be advised on their trip by an expert provided by ITV to help them make the best choices. They will also provide some of the items for the auction from their own houses, helped in their selection process by Laurence Lewellyn Bowen.
The two teams will be local to each other and so will organise to hold the auction at a local venue, perhaps a church hall, but they will make separate invitation lists for their guests, inviting friends, family and perhaps also people they hope might be most likely to buy their lots at the auction.
Would-be participants should call Freddie Martin on 0207 157 4910 or email au**********@it*.com stating their name and daytime contact number.
