New round of Peace 3 applications

The Special EU Programming Body (SEUPB) in Ireland is inviting applications for the next round of grants under the Peace III Programme.
The grants call covers the period up to 2013 and is part funded by the EU (€225 million) and national contributions (€108 million). The main aims of the Peace III programme are to reinforce progress towards a peaceful and stable society.
The themes for Peace III are:
* To build positive relations at the local level
* To acknowledge the past
* To create shared public spaces
* To develop key institutional capacity for a shared society
The specific programmes under this round of funding are:
* Priority 1 Reconciling Communities, Theme 1 Building Positive Relations – Regional Projects
* Priority 2 Contributing to a Shared Society
* Theme 1 Creating Shared Public Spaces
* Theme 2 Key Institutional Capacities are Developed for a Shared Society.
Grants are now being accessed in a new way, with applicants being urged to work with local councils which have formed themselves into eight clusters. The eligible area for applications is Northern Ireland and the Border Region.
The applications deadline is Monday 17 January 2011 at 3.00pm.
