MOT reminder service offers online affinity income for charities

MOT-reminder.com, which reminds motorists when their MOT test is due, is offering an affinity deal to charities that partner with it. The company is offering to donate 10p for each registration directed to the site.
Each year over 26 million MOT tests are required in the UK, but MOT-reminder.com say that more than a quarter of people forget to renew their MOT. This can lead to a fine of up to £1,000 and in most cases invalidates people’s motor insurance.
The company is offering appropriate banners and buttons for affiliates to encourage registration, or a co-branded version of the website specific to a charity’s visitors.
MOT-reminder.com’s Brian Hooker said: “By giving your supporters the choice to receive a reminder, you could be providing a responsible, value added service. It could also generate revenue.”
