City workers battle to be 'City Conkerer' 2009
FTI Forensic Accounting was crowned ‘City Conkerer’ last week at the 2009 NSPCC City Conker Cup.
‘FTI Consulting 2’s Natalie Rivett, Dave Tull and Steven Harris picked up the trophy after beating ‘The Naked Nuts’ from Lovells. The Conkerers won a four day trip to Prague, courtesy of sponsor SABMiller.
More than 150 city workers took part in the tournament, hosted by BBC sports commentator John Inverdale.

The evening kicked off with a celebrity conker match. Harlequins’ rugby union stars Seb Stegmann, Daryl Marfo and Olly Kohn squared up against an NSPCC conker committee team, with the Harlequins stars taking the honours.
Conker challengers also enjoyed a silent auction. Prizes included tickets to the 2010 BMW PGA Golf Championship at Wentworth Club and the Goodwood horseracing in May 2010.
Natalie Rivett of ‘FTI Consulting 2’ said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be crowned the 2009 City Conkerers. This event is about having fun and raising valuable funds for the NSPCC.”
NSPCC head of special events Sonya Timms said: “Congratulations to FTI Forensic Accounting and Lovells who put in cracking performances. There was a great atmosphere at the event with the competitive spirit of all the teams coming to the fore. The money raised will help us continue our vital work to protect children from neglect and abuse.”
This was the sixth year that the event has taken place, and helped raise over £30,000 for the children’s charity.
