Staff encouraged to fund raise for children with life limiting illnesses

Lifelites, the only charity providing education and entertainments’ technology for terminally ill children in children’s hospices across the UK has confirmed that it has been chosen by specialist project assurance company Pelicam to be its charity partner.

This is the first time Pelicam, which helps large corporations deliver complex projects, has adopted a chosen charity. It will encourage its workforce to raise funds for Lifelites over the coming months.

Lifelites provides a whole package of fully maintained technology to children’s hospices across the UK, including computers, printers, digital cameras, wide screen TVs, Sky and Broadband.

“We chose to work with Lifelites because there is a perfect synergy between Pelicam, as the leading provider of project assurance to major organisations, and Lifelites charity cause” explained Peter Mayer managing partner at Pelicam.

“We understand the importance of communications and through Lifelites we are helping to provide children with life limiting illnesses to keep in contact with friends, family and school whilst they are receiving respite care”.

“We at Pelicam are looking forward to working with our colleagues and the local communities to support such a worthwhile charity,” added Mayer.

“We are extremely excited about working with Pelicam and its staff,” commented Simone Enefer-Doy, Chief Executive of Lifelites. “Pelicam understand the importance of our work and the staff fundraising element will see valuable funds being raised to support IT in children’s hospices in the UK. At the same time we expect to make many new friends through
Pelicam along the way”.

About Pelicam:

Pelicam was founded by Peter Mayer in 1998. Having run many projects in blue chip companies Peter knew that the key to success is to get the right people in the right roles. Having built an informal network of 20 impressive project specialists, Peter used these resources to ensure “square pegs in square holes” and set the company up on this basis. In 1998 the company was invited to work on a number of troubleshooting assignments including some within the AXA group of companies. From this its client portfolio rapidly developed. The company has grown consistently at 30% year on year, always balancing the growing demand for its services with its cardinal rule of maintaining the quality of its practitioners something we will never compromise on. www.Pelicam.com

About Lifelites

Lifelites started out as a pilot project in 1999 with the idea of providing education and entertainments’ technology for children in hospices. Since then, its work has expanded to meet the growing demand from the mushrooming network of children’s hospices (currently 40) in England and Wales – expanding to Scotland and Northern Ireland as funds permit – serving around 5,000 children and their families. www.lifelites.org
