RBC Blue Water Project donates £2.3 million to 31 organisations
Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has donated £2.3 million (C$4.1 million) via its RBC Blue Water Project Leadership Grant programme to 31 organisations around the world to help protect watersheds and improve access to clean drinking water.
The 31 recipients, selected from 159 applicants, will deliver programmes in Canada, the USA and the UK.

RBC is committed to making available C$50 million (£27.8 million) over ten years to organisations providing these services.
In the UK, a grant of £55,000 was made to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) to help it create a sustainable garden at the London Wetland Centre, that will demonstrate practical low-water gardening ideas, and encourage visitors to minimise their own environmental foot print.
The closing deadline for applications for the 2010 RBC Blue Water Project Leadership Grants falls in March 2010.
