Chelsea Football Club’s four-year partnership with CLIC Sargent has raised over £2 million for the children’s cancer charity. As the partnership comes to an end next month, the club’s chief executive Peter Kenyon presented the charity with a special recognition award.

The special award was presented at the Player of the Year Awards at Stamford Bridge in front of top players including Frank Lampard and John Terry.

The four-year relationship has included special visits from players to children in hospital, auctions of Chelsea FC memorabilia, match day mascot opportunities for young people with cancer, and involvement in the annual launch of CLIC Sargent’s football fundraiser, Kick for Children with Cancer.

Querida Williams, Head of Corporate Fundraising at CLIC Sargent, said: “Thanks to its global brand identity and the sheer enthusiasm of players, management and staff, Chelsea FC has done a tremendous amount in raising awareness of the plight of children living with cancer in the UK. This has given us a fantastic platform to promote the work CLIC Sargent does to support them through their journey”.

The collaboration with Chelsea FC started in April 2005 when the newly merged charity, CLIC Sargent, was introduced to the media at Stamford Bridge.
