Institute of Fundraising seeks new trustees
The Institute of Fundraising is inviting its members to consider standing for election to its Board of Trustees. The Trustees help guide the future direction of the Institute and its role in helping to shape the development of the fundraising profession.
There are three vacancies open to all members, and open to election by ballot from all members. Judith Feeney and Olga Johnson have come to the end of their term of office, and John Baguley has come to the end of his first three-year term and will be standing for re-election.
An additional election will take place for a dedicated trustee from Northern Ireland, to be elected by the Northern Ireland membership, to succeed Paul Kane.
The Institute reports that the current trustees feel that “ethnic and gender diversity on the Board could be improved”. They also consider that the board could benefit with greater representation from those with experience of smaller charities, experience of the Institute’s Special Interest Groups, and fundraising practitioners.
The closing date for nominations is midday on 22 May 2009.
