Rosa to fundraise with virtual rose garden for Mother's Day

Celebrate Her rose garden for Rosa
Burnett Works has developed an online rose garden to help Rosa, the first UK-wide women’s fund, raise money in the run-up to Mother’s Day on 22 March.
‘Celebrate Her’ is an interactive online rose garden where visitors can make a donation to plant a virtual rose in honour of a woman in their life. This then triggers an email to that woman (unless of course it is in memory of someone) saying who is celebrating her and why, and sending her to Rosa’s website, where she can see her virtual rose grow with her name on it.
While there, she can scroll through the garden to see other women also being celebrated, and see how Rosa is trumpeting the worth of girls and women in the UK by funding projects that support them in innovative ways.
“We wanted a fundraising product that would appeal to all women (and men with women in their lives). It also needed to express what Rosa stands for – valuing women and what they bring to the world,” said Ann-Sophie Morrissette, Communications Manager.
“The flash application is dynamic, so roses planted most recently have prime position at the front of the virtual garden,” explained Vicki Nice, head of digital at Burnett Works.
“Those planted longer ago then move back, creating a three-dimensional perspective. So if you plant a virtual rose for your mum this Mother’s Day, on March 22nd, it will be right there right away at the front of the garden along with all those other mums being honoured.
“It’s also perfect for birthdays, Christmas and Valentine’s Day, which means Celebrate Her has energy all year round.”
Celebrate Her was developed as part of an overhaul by Burnett Works of Rosa’s initial website, to make it more visitor-friendly, add more of a fundraising focus, and make it easier to update in-house.
