What do you do when the Charity Commission accounts don't list recipients of grants?

I was recently researching grant-making trusts for a client. In most cases, I could obtain the information I need from the Charity Commission website, Guidestar UK and/or the trust’s own website. In a few instances I wrote to the trust for a list of recipients, as this information was not always included in the accounts on the websites. The Eranda Foundation sent me a list of recipients, but The Hedley Foundation is no longer prepared to do so. While I appreciate I am being a bit of a nuisance, and putting the administrator to more work, the full list can be very helpful. According to its website, The Hedley Foundation (www.hedleyfoundation.org.uk) will fund the education of young people. A copy of the list would indicate that they don’t tend to fund universities or colleges as they think that “these are usually very well endowed with funds”. Fair enough(unless you are trying to raise funds for a university, but this is not mentioned on the website, and we are currently unable to obtain a full list of recipients of grants. Er, this might result in more work for the administrator … Hey ho!
