Spark offers £1.6 million for social enterprises tackling homelessness

Spark, a collaboration of the public, private and third sectors to affect social change, is offering £1.6 million to social enterprises.

It aims to encourage organisations such as social enterprises, charities, housing associations to develop viable businesses that will create a sustainable route out for people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

Each winning organisation will receive a minimum grant of £5,000 rising to a potential £200,000 plus business support and corporate sponsorship worth over £20,000. In addition winning organisations will have opportunity to receive co-investment from Big Issue Invest.

The closing date for applications is 9 February 2009.
