Siemens to establish nonprofit foundation

Electronics and electrical engineering company Siemens AG is creating a nonprofit foundation with an endowment of €400 million.
The Siemens Foundation will incorporate the company’s corporate citizenship activities, including the Siemens Generation21 and Siemens Caring Hands programmes.
Based in Munich, Germany, it will focus primarily on technology, education, “charitable programmes”, the arts and culture, and will begin operations as an independent entity in early 2009. It will operate at national and international levels.
