Put your slogan on Oxfam's billboards

Howard Lake | 3 October 2008 | News

Oxfam is asking the British public to suggest some powerful advertising slogans, offering them to chance to upload them onto a series of large digital billboards around London.
The charity claims that this is “the world’s first interactive billboard advertising”. It is applying some of the online techniques of Web 2.0 such as user generated content, interactivity, and ‘crowdsourcing’.
You can upload your ideas for an advertising slogan for Oxfam onto its website and the best of these will be shown on the three-metre high billboards within 24 hours.
There are eight such billboards around central London. People whose ideas are used will be notified in advance so that they can see their masterpieces of publicity in person.
Fourteen entries will be selected and each winning entry will run for a 24-hour period between 6 and 19 October.
The advertisements are part of Oxfam’s “Be Humankind” campaign, devised by advertising agency RKCR.
