BT gives £25,000 to children's sports charity

Howard Lake | 9 September 2008 | News

Telecoms company BT has given £25,000 to Sports Junction™, the charity dedicated to increasing the numbers of children and young adults fulfilling their ambitions and realising their potential through sporting activities.
BT’s grant will fund a regional survey by the charity in conjunction with Buckinghamshire County Council, monitoring young people’s participation in sports, both in and out of school.
Sports Junction’s website is designed to offer a range of inspirational and practical facilities for children and young adults to draw from. Intended users will also include coaches, parents, schools, sports clubs, local authorities and interested parties in the region, linking them online.
Duncan Ingram, Group Director, BT London 2012, said: “Helping youngsters to find a niche in sport reflects BT’s long-standing commitment to education, coaching and mentoring. We’re committed to releasing the potential of aspiring young British athletes and helping them to best develop their abilities”.
