Could QR Codes be big for online fundraising?

I’ve started to see quite a few little black ‘maze’ icons on advertisements in papers and magazines here in the UK. They look like the latest evolution of the Sudoku craze, but are actually QR Codes (QR = Quick Response) – bar codes containing details of a web address, which can be read by your mobile phone.
