The Royal British Legion’s 2007 Poppy Appeal has raised £30 million, a 15% increase on the 2006 total of £26 million.
The record sum from the two-week appeal was announced at the Legion’s Annual Conference in Southport over the weekend.
Russell Thompson, Director of National Events and Fundraising, said: “The welfare work of The Royal British Legion is close to the nation’s hearts and minds, and so is support for our Armed Forces. The result of the 2007 Poppy Appeal confirms that”.
