How to use GuideStar UK if you are a trust fundraiser

Howard Lake | 30 April 2008 | Blogs

The April 2008 e-bulletin from GuideStar UK, the website that features information on 168,000 registered charities in England and Wales, includes two tips explaining how trust fundraisers can make best use of the site.
“Did you know?” it asks, that “you can find charities that provide grants – just tick the ‘Grant Maker’ box in the advanced search. There are 64,000 charities that provide grants included in GuideStar UK”.
It then adds that “you can search for charities that are working to benefit a specific geographic area by using the ‘Area of benefit’ box in advanced search. For example you will find 1,277 charities that work to benefit Bristol and 3,152 that are working for Africa.”
