Feed the Children Digs Wyevale Support Via Gardening Tools Amnesty

Howard Lake | 17 February 2008 | Blogs

Wyevale, “the UK’s leading gardening specialist”, is offering customers a 20 per cent discount on garden tools when they bring in their old ones that will then be donated to Feed the Children, a charity that helps people in Africa grow a better future. The “Garden Tool Amnesty” is being advertised in national newspapers and runs from February 16 to February 24. Strangely, news of the promotion isn’t covered on either partners’ websites.
Whilst not on the scale of the M&S and Oxfam Clothes Exchange, it does go to show that smaller charities are able to establish corporate partnerships with major retail chains. In particular, it’s also another example of a trend towards retailers starting to work in partnership with international causes.
