New signups for online mobile phone and cartridge recycling programme

Howard Lake | 14 February 2008 | News

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Pelvic Pain Support Network, and Adapt are the latest charities to sign up to raise funds from the Each One Counts online recycling programme for printer cartridges and mobile phones.
The online service developed by Environmental Business Products (EBP) enables small charities to benefit from fundraising from these two donated items, some of them for the first time. It means that the previous limitation of large print runs for recycling bags has now been overcome. As a result, any charity can join in, however small their supporter base.
Fiona Healey-Hutchinson, Battersea’s Director of Fundraising, said: “Using the online approach will ensure a cost-effective and sustainable recycling scheme and it will help us develop our supporter database. Each One Counts is a natural fit with our strategy”.
Because not all cartridges and mobiles can be recycled or have a commercial value, Each One Counts provides a simple online ‘checker’ to help charity supporters see if their items are recyclable and reusable.
