Bank selects Cancer Fund for Children as 2008 partner

Howard Lake | 16 January 2008 | News

The Northern Bank in Northern Ireland has selected the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children as its charity partner for 2008. The selection process involved the bank’s staff throughout its branch network.
Northern has begun the partnership with the Bank donating £5 for every Charity Bond taken out by customers. Further support will follow from their Employee Charity Group and Sports and Social Club as well as staff fundraising events throughout the year. In 2007, the Northern raised over £140k for Macmillan Cancer Support and hope to match that amount for their new charity partner in 2008.
Teresa Morris, Business Development Manager at NICFC said, “It’s great to know that we have Northern’s support throughout 2008, and to know that we’re working with a great bunch of people who really care about the work we do. We are keen to get all staff members involved and will be providing you with a list of fundraising opportunities shortly.”
Vanessa Postle, Communications Team added, “We know from last year’s success that teams enjoy raising money for a good cause and participating in popular events such as the Belfast Marathon and local fun runs.”
