Rachel Heyhoe Flint receives OBE for services to cricket

Former England women’s cricket captain and President of The Lady Taverners, Rachael Heyhoe Flint has been invested with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to cricket in the New Year’s Honours List.
She had previously been awarded an MBE in 1972 while still captain of the national side, for services to women’s cricket.
For the past eight years Heyhoe Flint has been President of The Lady Taverners, the fundraising arm of the cricketing charity The Lord’s Taverners. As well as providing funds for cricketing projects, the charity also raises money for youngsters with special needs and has generated over £6 million in the past five years.
