The ‘duet’ got to number one!

‘What A Wonderful World’, a duet by the late Eva Cassidy and Katie Melua, has today reached number one in the Official UK Singles Chart.

Available exclusively through Tesco, all profits from sales of the single benefit the British Red Cross, the 2007 Tesco Charity of the Year.

This is the first time the British Red Cross has ever benefited from a charity single reaching number one.

Katie Melua, the biggest selling British female artist in the world in 2006, commented on the chances of the single becoming the Christmas number one: “It would be amazing if the single stayed at the top of the charts next week as that would mean a huge amount of money had been raised.”

‘What A Wonderful World’ is only available in Tesco stores and by download at Tesco.com.
