Louise Richards joins Computer Aid international as CEO

Former War on Want chief executive, Louise Richards, has been appointed Chief Executive at Computer Aid International, the not-for-profit supplier of professionally refurbished PCs to the developing world.
Richards replaces Tony Roberts, Computer Aid’s founder who has moved into the newly created role of director of international development. This new role will allow Tony to focus on developing Computer Aid’s projects on the ground in developing countries.
Before her five years as CEO at international development charity War on Want, Richards spent 20 years at public sector trade union UNISON where she held the position of head of international relations.

Tony Roberts said: “After nearly ten years, we are now the world’s largest supplier of PCs to the developing world, we ship to 106 countries and have just sent our 100,000th PC to Ethiopia. Louise Richards has been an active supporter of Computer Aid from the very beginning so she knows our work well, and her knowledge and contacts within the industry will be invaluable as we take Computer Aid International to the next level.”
