The Co-operative Bank has donated £44,000 from its Customer Donation Fund to help 49 community groups across the country.

The Customer Donation Fund makes regular donations to customers of the bank’s Community Directplus account for community organisations, charities and social groups. Since the scheme was launched in 2003, it has given over £140,000 to 170 groups across the country.

Projects that will benefit from this latest payout include an organisation that promotes art by children with Autism, and a volunteer ran scheme that restores old hand tools before forwarding them worldwide where they can be used to generate an income.
