Guide Dogs launches Christmas 'thank you' appeal
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is thanking donors with a Christmas gift this November whilst highlighting the ongoing need for support.
TDA has created the campaign that aims to generate cash donations from Guide Dogs’ warm audience. It uses the story of Diane Stephens and her new guide dog Floyd to emphasise the continuing requirements of visually impaired people.
Diane lost her sight around 15 years ago, when her children were young but was able to regain her independence with her first guide dog William. However, last Christmas was particularly difficult for her – she lost William to skin cancer and had to use a cane to get around. Now that she has been successfully partnered with Floyd, Diane is looking forward to her favourite festive activities – such as carol singing around the village and visiting the Christmas bazaar.

This case study will appeal to donors on multiple levels, says Jamie Taylor, Senior Account Director at TDA. Diane’s regained independence is a powerful and heart-warming story. Dog lovers will also empathise with the sadness Diane felt at losing her first guide dog and her plans to spoil Floyd with lots of treats this Christmas.
