Philanthropist awards set for December

The Community Foundation for Ireland has announced that the winners of the 2007 Philanthropist of the Year awards will be revealed on December 3rd. The ceremony, which had been originally scheduled for November 15th, will take place in Dublin.
Tina Roche, Chief Executive, when announcing the date change said “The Community Foundation would like to thank all the community groups and
charities that made nominations and we hope that this award will build into a permanent event, shining a light on philanthropy and encouraging
others to take up the mantle”.
The awards will provide recognition for outstanding achievements by individuals whose giving helps society. There are two award categories – the first for philanthropy in Ireland and the second for philanthropy by Irish people overseas.
