Institute Announces Results of 'Innovation Zone'

Today, the Institute of Fundraising (‘Institute’) is announcing the results of the ‘Innovation Zone’ that took place on Thursday 20th September, and inviting suppliers to submit their products for Thursday 7th February 2008.
Three suppliers took part, presenting their products for review and assessment.
· PRIME (Payroll Income Management and Evaluation) – Presented by billets
This is a simulator which can be used to manage and forecast Payroll Giving income. PRIME is a system which enables charities to monitor attrition, forecast and report Payroll Giving income, and also facilitate the ‘flagging’ of missed payments.
· Charity Christmas cards – Presented by Studio51
Although charity Christmas cards are in themselves not innovative, Studio51’s cards offer a new solution to the common problem charities experience in receiving only a nominal amount from the sale of conventional charity cards. Studio51 is an online retail venture which passes 51 per cent of the sale price from its cards to charity, in comparison to the 10 per cent or less of most providers.
· JumbleAID
This website is a new concept in reducing landfill by reuse and supporting charities. Members of the public are assisted in finding new homes for unwanted items, in return for a donation to charity. JumbleAID combines the ethos behind Freecycle with the technology of ebay, effectively benefiting both ‘gifter’ and ‘seeker’.
The panel gave each product a rating on the scale of 1-5, (1*-low, 5*****-high).

Megan Pacey, Director of Policy and Campaigns at the Institute of Fundraising says:
The Institute’s Innovation Zone is now well established itself as the leading road-testing forum for fundraising products and services, and as a facilitator and promoter of innovation to support fundraising organisations.
The three concepts described in the latest Innovation Zone all scored highly in their fundraising potential, and offer practical benefit to a range of fundraisers and fundraising charities. I was delighted by the high quality and innovative products that were presented to this panel.”
The findings of the Innovation Zone Panel have been published in a full report, exclusively for Organisational members of the Institute of Fundraising. A summary report is available for all interested parties online at www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk.
The Innovation Zone is a regular schedule of quarterly events. Suppliers and Organisational members who would like to take part or find out more are invited to email: po****@in**********************.uk. The closing date for applications from suppliers is Thursday 24th January 2008.
