Howard Lake | 23 September 2007 | News

The Dormant Accounts Fund in the Irish Republic is releasing another ‚€2 million under the Economic and Social Disadvantage category for projects supporting community based services for older people. The Fund is open to locally based organisations that have experience of working with and delivering projects supporting older people.

The funding is particularly focusing on projects that will assist older people to continue living in their own homes and in the community. To promote the new funding initiative, the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and the Department of Health and Children has tasked the information agency, Pobal, to run a series of information sessions throughout the country in October.

Applications and criteria are available from Pobal by phoning 01 2400700 or by downloading from their site. The closing date for applications is the 16th November.
