Howard Lake | 21 September 2007 | Newswire

Online charity shopping portal www.easyfundraising.org.uk has now processed more than 100,000 charitable donations since its launch in October 2005.
Free to register and use, easyfundraising features over 400 brand name retailers and allows supporters of charities, voluntary groups and not for profit organisations to raise money simply by shopping online.
Good causes around the country use the service and benefit from a donation of up to 15% of the purchase price every time their supporters buy online.
Retailers featured include NEXT, Amazon, M&S, DELL and PLAY.com as well as big name insurers such as Churchill, Direct Line and More Than. Shoppers can purchase anything from clothes, home furnishings and computers to holidays, train tickets and mobile phones and generate funds with each purchase.
easyfundraising’s Becky Coleman said, “Passing this milestone indicates that a growing number of organisations are now able to raise much needed funds very simply and at no additional cost to their supporters.
With Christmas just around the corner, we are expecting the number of donations to increase rapidly in the coming months as more shoppers choose to buy online. We also have a number of exciting developments in the pipeline for 2008 aimed at providing even greater fundraising opportunities for our organisations.”
