Sport Relief application deadline close

Howard Lake | 9 July 2007 | News

Sport Relief and its Northern Ireland partner, the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, are accepting applications for the next round of funding, with a deadline of 26th July. Sport Relief was set up by Comic Relief and BBC Sport to support community organisations using sport to make a lasting impact on the lives of disadvantaged people.

Sport Relief has two themes — increasing access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and helping people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives to regain their confidence and self-esteem. Groups working with more disadvantaged people will be prioritised over sporting organisations seeking running costs.

Grants will be awarded in the range of £1,000 to £10,000. The overall budget for 2007 and 2008 is £60,000 annually. The next deadline after 26th July is 14th November.
