Institute's PR in Fundraising SIG to go ahead

The Institute of Fundraising’s PR in Fundraising Special Interest Group held its first meeting recently with almost 40 people attending.

Organiser Ian MacQuillin said this was extremely encouraging. The group had two discrete expectations of the role it could perform: a strong voice to bring PR and fundraising closer together and as a peer support/networking group.

MacQuillin has now sent out a set of questions to attendees to form a consultation about how people want the group to be run and what its role(s) should be.

There were a number of volunteers for committee members but MacQuillin said he would still welcome people – particularly from charities – who would like to help with the group.

The aim is now to have a further meeting in July with the volunteers, and an official launch of the group in the autumn.

Anyone wishing to sign up to the group should visit the Institute’s website.
