The Institute of Fundraising in Northern Ireland has commissioned research to assess the current skills capacity of fundraisers. The research is being paid for by an Awards For All Grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
The aim of the research, which is being carried out by consultants Kevin McCaughan and Janet Stevenson, is to examine the potential scope for making a positive contribution to the current sustainability debate through further skills enhancement of fundraisers.
The actual research will entail:
* an analyses of the need in NI for fundraising skills development,
* the identification and analysis of the training and accreditation provision currently available,
* consultation with key stakeholders on the potential for investment in skills capacity building, &
* the provision of a framework for the further development of fundraising skills training in NI.
The research project will be completed for the end of August 2007. Fundraisers who wish to contribute to the research can contact Kevin McCaughan on 02879659911 or at ad********@bt********.com
