The 2012 Irish Philanthropist of the Year Awards will take place on 12 December 2012 from 12.15 to 14.30 at Number 10 Ormond Quay, Dublin.

The winners will be announced at a special luncheon for 70 people with awards presented under three categories, National, International and Corporate. The awards, run by the Community Foundation for Ireland, are now in their fifth year and 2012 is the first year an award will be given within the corporate sector, with the local and national award being combined.

The awards aim to recognise extraordinary individuals who have shown outstanding leadership in the area of personal philanthropy and who, through their giving, have made a difference in bringing about sustainable social change. Categories for nominations include National, International and Corporate Philanthropist of the Year.
