QVC receives payroll giving Silver Quality Mark

Television shopping channel QVC has been awarded the Silver Payroll Giving Quality Mark by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).

QVC’s payroll giving initiative started at the end of 2006 but has already attracted 125 QVC who have pledged £15,990 annually to over 50 local and national charities of their choice. The most popular are NSPCC, Cancer Research UK, RSPCA, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Childline.

The initiative was launched by payroll giving promoter Sharing the Caring, part of CAF. It ran events at QVC’s sites in London and Knowsley, giving employees the opportunity to learn about this method of tax-effective giving, and the chance to sign up to pledge.

The Payroll Giving Quality Mark is a Government-funded scheme that recognises and rewards organisations of all sizes for making payroll giving available to staff. The Silver Award is given to employers who succeed in persuading 5-9% of their employees to give direct from their pay.
