£1,500 for the most creative church fundraising idea

Church property insurer Ecclesiastical Insurance is offering cash prizes for the 12 most innovative church fundraising ideas.

The competition is open to churches of all denominations. Ecclesiastical is offering a first prize of £1,500 and second and third prizes of £750 and £500 respectively. Nine runners up will receive £100 each.

The 12 finalists will also be featured in Ecclesiastical’s 2008 calendar. As a result the best ideas will be promoted nationwide.

To enter the competition, churches must explain what they are raising funds for, how they have organised a fundraising team, and what unusual ideas they have used to attract interest and support from the local community.

The deadline for entries is 31 May 2007.
