Balance Foundation ceases operation

Howard Lake | 23 March 2007 | News

The Balance Foundation, set up to release unclaimed assets from the financial sector, has completed its mission, is to cease operations and hand over administration of its existing grants programme to the Clore Duffield Foundation.

Balance was formed in December 2003 and has worked in partnership with leading UK financial institutions to release an estimated £8m of unclaimed assets to charitable good causes with further funds expected to be released later this year.

Over £500,000 has also been made available to balance and has been awarded to 28 projects from charities in the area on which its trustees agreed to focus – meeting the needs of vulnerable, socially excluded older people.
