Schoolchildren for Children raise £180,000 in two years

Children’s charity Schoolchildren for Children has raised over £180,000 since its launch in 2005. The funds have been raised by thousands of children taking part in synchronised sporting events.

Schoolchildren for Children gives half the money raised by schools to improve the lives of children living in poverty in developing countries. The other half is used by the schools to improve their own sports facilities and activities in the UK.

Schoolchildren for Children’s next synchronised fundraising events take place on 13 July and 15 September 2007.

“We very much hope to increase the number of schools taking part this year, from 288 schools and an estimated 75,000 schoolchildren in 2006”, said founder Iestyn Thomas.
