Volunteer raises £25,000 over 10 years of gala dinners

Jim Leeming’s gala dinner for Research into Ageing this week will be his last after 10 years of organising the event.

Jim Leeming is County Director of the Greater Manchester Support Group and the annual gala dinners have raised over £25,000 for Research into Ageing, a special trust within Help the Aged that was founded in 1978. He will be stepping down from the post after tomorrow’s event.

The speaker at this week’s dinner will be Dr Martin Stephen from Manchester Grammar School (MGS) who will speak on ‘Dare to be Wise – The Manchester Grammar School and the Battle for Standards’.
