The Army Benevolent Fund is inviting people across the UK to host a curry lunch for family, friends and colleagues in its Big Curry Week beginning 16 April 2007 to raise funds. The Army will be joining in, in garrisons and operational theatres across the world.
The launch event, at The Royal Hospital Chelsea included a ‘curry cook off’ between the World’s Biggest Curry Lunch Chef Alfred Prasad, Michelin star holder and Executive Chef at the Tamarind and Tim Harrington, head Chef at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
The ABF has published a fundraising pack for the event, containing exclusive recipes, vouchers and other items to help participants plan their events.

The new initiative has been launched in the face of increasing demand for support from Army personnel and their families, particularly in light of the number of recent operational casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan.
