Association of Fundraising Consultants promote CFRE in the UK

The Association of Fundraising Consultants is promoting the Certified Fund Raising Executive credential to fundraisers in the UK as a way of demonstrating their “achievements, integrity and mastery of the philanthropic fundraising profession”.

The AFC was responsible for introducing the CFRE to the UK, and is still the only European-based participating organisation in the CFRE programme. It is keen to see more UK fundraisers achieve this internationally-recognised certification. Over 4,600 fundraisers around the world have achieved the certificate.

The certificate is open to anyone who has worked for at least five of the most recent eight years in positions where at least half of their time was spent in philanthropic fundraising.

There are two steps to CFRE certification – completing an application and taking an examination.

Achieving the certificate does not require hours of lectures and course work. If you have the experience, a proven track record in fundraising, and can find the time to prepare for and site the four-hour examination, then you could achieve the certificate.
