Howard Lake | 10 January 2007 | News

US direct marketing agency DMW Worldwide LLC has, together with Target Marketing Group, published “In the Trenches: A Practitioner’s Guide to Fundraising Success in the Real World”, written by direct-response expert and president of the agency’s nonprofit division Tom Hurley.

The book is a series of short essays taken from Hurley’s ‘In the Trenches’ column in ‘Fundraising Success’ magazine. Issues addressed include strategy, choosing production partners, going global, the mysteries of merge/purge, monthly giving, attrition, and lessons from abroad.

Each essay is short, no longer than two pages, but full of practical advice based clearly on experience. The book focuses on the US nonprofit experience but will be relevant to many fundraisers in other countries.
