YOUR CHANCE TO PICK UP A PENGUIN IN AID OF ST TERESA’S HOSPICE
21/12/06

Fans of the new animated movie ‘Happy Feet’ are being given the chance to take home an enormous cuddly replica of one of its stars, thanks to a special fundraising raffle at Darlington’s Asda supermarket.

For the past few weeks the giant 6ft cuddly penguin has been on display in the foyer of the Whinbush Way store, with staff selling raffle tickets to seasonal shoppers and families eager to give ‘Mumble’ a new home.

Now, with only a few days remaining before the draw is made, parents are being advised not to miss out on the opportunity to win this extra special present in time for Christmas.

The raffle draw will be made in Asda’s foyer at 3pm on Christmas Eve, followed by a special Christingle Service led by members of the Whinfield Church.

All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington and help towards funding the charity’s extensive range of palliative and respite care services.

St Teresa’s Hospice Director, Jane Bradshaw, said: Happy Feet is a really popular film at the moment and I’m sure that many youngsters have added merchandise from the movie to their Christmas wish list. The giant cuddly toy that Asda is giving away would make a great addition to any child’s collection and I am keen to see ‘Mumble’ go to a good and loving home in time for Christmas.”
