POLAM HALL’S FASHIONISTAS RAISE OVER £1200 FOR ST TERESA’S HOSPICE
14/12/06
Pupils from Polam Hall School in Darlington have raised a magnificent sum for St Teresa’s Hospice, by taking part in a special fundraising fashion show.
Earlier this month models from Polam Hall’s Junior and Senior Schools and the Sixth Form, took to the catwalk in the school’s Liddiard Theatre, to help raise funds on the Hospice’s behalf.
The Sixth Form students wore a range of outfits from a number of high street stores and local fashion houses including New Look, Leggs, Next, Binns, Officers Club, Republic and Geoffrey Gillow.
Girls from Year 4 also modelled recycled hats and the Year 10 girls wore a range of recycled shoes which were all obtained from the Hospice Shop in Darlington.
Proceeds from the event, which reached a total of more than £1200, will now be used to help fund St Teresa’s Hospice’s palliative and respite care services, which are provided free of charge to people living within South Durham and North Yorkshire.
Marie Green, Headmistress at Polam Hall School, said: Our fashion show gave Polam Hall’s pupils a chance to display their creative flair and support their local community at the same time. The students had a lot of fun preparing for the event and strutting down the catwalk, and we are proud to have been able to support the Hospice in this way.”
St Teresa’s Hospice Director, Jane Bradshaw, said: I would like to thank the staff and pupils at Polam Hall School for all their hard work and congratulate them on a very successful fashion show.”
