Big Lottery launches new grants programme

Howard Lake | 25 October 2006 | News

The Big Lottery Fund in Northern Ireland today launched a new grant programme called Live and Learn. This latest scheme will provide £18 million over five years, with successful applications eligible to receive up to £1 million.

Live and Learn is designed to create learning opportunities and improve well being. Key to any successful application will be the strength of partnerships and the ability to meet two outcomes — helping people to achieve their full potential and improving physical and mental health.

The application process will be in two stages. It is anticipated that 20-25 groups will pass stage 1 and be eligible for up to £50,000 for a development grant. Between 12-15 groups will pass stage 2 for grants between £600,000-£1 million.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the Big Lottery’s Reaching Communities programme has had 174 applications seeking £63 million for the £18 million available.
