Local paper launches online adverts page to raise funds

Howard Lake | 28 September 2006 | News

The Mid Sussex Times has launched an online advertising page on its website where local businesses can pay to advertise, with 25% of the receipts being donated to St Peter and St James Hospice.

Local firms can advertise their services on the “advert wall”, and can include direct links to their own websites.

The Mid Sussex Times aims to raise over £3,000 for the hospice through the scheme that was inspired by Alex Tew’s Million Dollar Homepage.

The newspaper believes that the project is “the first of its kind in the world to be used for charity fundraising” but it has of course been beaten to it by many charity fundraising pixel ad sites around the world.
