Institute of Fundraising "to make better use of e-mail"

The Institute of Fundraising has told its members that it will “start to make better use of e-mail as a way of communicating with members.”

In a letter to members, CEO Lindsay Boswell reported that he is currently carrying out a review of the Institute’s communications strategy.

He points out that the Institute already has a series of e-mail briefings from its national and regional groups, as well as “helpful e-mail groupings for most of the Institute’s Special Interest groups”. In practice though, the latter have been set up using the Yahoo! Groups service, rather than being provided by the Institute.

In addition to the e-mail alerts received from the AFP in the USA, Institute members will also shortly be able to sign up for alerts from the European Fundraising Association.

Lindsay added that “none of this replaces the personal touch and if you would prefer then write or pick up the phone.”
