A group of campaigners is aiming to raise around £12-15 million to restore Concorde to flight by 2012, ready for a fly-past at the London Olympics. It has been an uphill struggle for the nonprofit group, not least because, they say, they have not managed to secure support from British Airways.
It might not be such a pipe-dream. Earlier this month a posting on the UK Fundraising Forum confirmed that the last Vulcan bomber had successfully and at the last minute secured sufficient funding to enable it to fly again.
