Whizz-Kidz launch new card range with Tesco

Children’s charity Whizz-Kidz has launched a new range of greetings card which will be sold via Tesco outlets. Whizz-Kidz is Tesco’s charity of the year 2006.

The charity launched its range of cards with a survey to find out what the public really wanted to say to friends and family with a greetings card.

The top ten occasions for which Britons would like to be able to buy a card included “Sorry your team has been relegated”, “Sorry for misbehaving at your wedding”, “You’re dumped”, and “Pet bereavement”.

The new range of Whizz-Kidz cards, which are on sale from 88p and with 10p from every card going to the charity, might not feature some of the more unusual topics suggested in the survey, but they will cover birthdays, anniversaries, new home and thank you’s.

Sending cards is still popular, with three quarters of respondents in the survey saying that they would be disappointed to receive a text message instead of a card on an important occasion. This even applies to young people with 72% of 16 to 24 yearr olds admitting that a text rather than a card shows “a lack of thought and care”.
