UK Charities set to benefit from £500m online advertising market

Howard Lake | 8 August 2006 | Newswire

Everyclick.com, the search engine that gives 50% of its revenues to charity, announced today the launch of a new keyword advertising service that will substantially increase the income it generates for charities across the UK. The service is being pre-launched to the charity sector with a range of special offers for early bookers. Charities registered with everyclick can enjoy discounts of up to 50% on keywords they buy.
The search-engine market is the fastest growing ad medium in the UK; worth £500m in 2005, analysts predict it will pass the £1bn mark in the next three years. Everyclick.com’s new advertising service will tap into this rapid growth market and the company will donate 50% of all advertising revenues to charities registered with them.
Everyclick.com keywords will be sold on a ‘first come first served’ basis for a fixed price and a fixed term. This unique approach has already attracted significant interest from advertisers as has the low potential cost of the service. Through special package deals keywords on everyclick.com could cost as little as 1p per day.
The launch of this new keyword advertising service marks the first anniversary of everyclick.com which also sees new deals being signed with content providers. Launched in June 2005 everyclick.com is now one of the largest charity sites in the UK with more than 300,000 users from over 1,400 charities choosing to search the web and raise funds for their charity.
Polly Gowers, managing director of everyclick.com commented: We are really excited about this next phase in the development of everyclick. Online advertising is the fastest growing ad spend medium in the UK and through everyclick, charities can now access a bigger share of that pot. In our first year we have had a tremendous response. The launch of our new keyword service means we can raise even more money for charities.”
